Windows Searches
A Search can be configured in many ways. This is done by your Administrator. Here is an example of a search:
The first search field is “hard-coded”. It cannot be changed by your Administrator. It always shows the base feature of the item area (Product in the example above) and thus allows you to search in base values of Products. You can search in this explicit field as explained in the table below.
Search tips
Field type | Search tip |
Explicit field | Search for:
NOTES: Search for multiple values (e.g. 12;24) is NOT possible with this field type Searching with wildcards (*) is much faster than searching for “raw” values. |
Selectable field (single) | With this field type you can select one value from the list. You can’t use wildcards or search for multiple values. |
Selectable field (multi) | A selectable field can be set up to allow searching for multiple values. Example: You select Aluminium and Basil as colors. Perfion returns all items that have one of these values in the Color feature. |
Radio buttons | Search fields can be displayed as radio buttons. You can only search for one of the shown values. |
IN HIERARCHY OF | When a search field shows IN HIERARCHY OF, you can search for items which have the selected value or any of the child values as value in the indicated feature. Example: You choose Coffee & Tea in the Category search field. Perfion returns items that have this value OR any child value (Acessories, Coffee Machines, Coffee Machines, etc) as value in the Category feature |
BETWEEN | When a search field shows BETWEEN, you can search for items with values between two end-points. Example: Deadline (date field) is set up with BETWEEN. You must enter a start and an end date as search values. Perfion returns items with Deadline between these two values. |
EXECUTE | When a search fields shows EXECUTE, you can select between different pre-defined searches. Pre-defined searches are configured by your Administrator. Example: You choose “Missing DAN translations”. Perfion returns all items with missing values in Danish langauge fields. |
IN | When a search field shows IN, you can search for multiple values at the same time. Values have to be separated by semicolon or “new line”. Example: If you search for three EAN numbers, Perfion returns items with either of these values in the EAN feature. Note: You cannot use wildcards with IN searches. If you searched for 424* you would not get any results. |
Other operators (>, >=, <, <=, !=) | Search fields can be set up with operators such as “greater than”, “less than”, etc. Example: Diameter is set up with >= (greater than or equal to). If you search for 10, Perfion returns all items with a value of 10 or more in the Diameter feature. |
