Azure Virtual Desktop User Access Guide

This page will give you a quick rundown of how to use the Windows Remote Desktop Client (MSRDC), also called Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) as part of a Perfion SaaS solution.

It will contain information on how you login and what you should expect to see when you login depending on your permissions level.

We will cover how to ask for access.

Downloading and installing the client.

There are 2 nearly identical AVD clients, but it is very important that you download and install the correct one.

Follow this link Get started with the Remote Desktop app for Azure Virtual Desktop and under “Install the client” you can download the version that suits you.

For macOS user refer to this link: Get started with the macOS client

The client will automatically search for updates and ask you to update when one is available.

Once installed you can start the application, where you will be presented with the following options:

You can subscribe to a workspace with either your user provided in an email or a url (https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery)

Either way you’ll need to login using the credentials you received from Perfion.

You will be required to change your password upon first login.

How does AVD work?

Once you have subscribed you are ready to use the applications available to you.

These some of the available applications:

You’ll only be able to access the Application Desktop with “Superuser” permissions or higher while the Web Server Desktop is for admin only.

The two Perfion applications will open a new window, as if it was opened on your local computer. The Application Desktop opens a remote desktop with Perfion installed.

The Web server Desktop contains the IIS and is where access to the Perfion WebClient, API and Application Server is configured.

More AVD users

If you need more users with access to the Perfion AVD, then all you need to do is create a ticket in our Jira with the following information:

Full name, email (to receive login info), permission level.

Once the ticket is created the Perfion Operations teams will create the user(s) as quickly as possible.

When a new user receives login formation from Perfion it will accompanied with this guide.
