Introduction

Tools provide access to functions that work independently from the content otherwise loaded in the client.

TECH NOTE: You need permissions to access each individual tool. If you don’t have these permissions, you will not see the menu items.

Import Items

Import Items lets you import items to Perfion from physical files.

In this dialogue you have these options:

Which feature do you want to import to

Select the base feature you to import to. This will typically be Product, but you can import data to any selectable feature.

Select the file you want to import

Click the icon an choose your import file. The following formats are supported:

  • csv

  • xls

  • xlsx

  • xliff

  • xml

  • txt

Import method

This option controls whether exiting values in Perfion are kept or deleted if the import file does deliver a value.

Choose between:

  • Keep existing values when missing in import (default)

  • Delete existing values when missing in import

Selectable feature validation

This option controls whether new selectable values in the import file (e.g. color “Dark Red”) are created in Perfion via the import or rejected.

Choose between:

  • No validation (default)

  • Validate selected features

  • Validate all features

Keep the first occurrence of records with duplicate keys

This option controls whether items with duplicate keys are ignored or if the first occurrence should be imported.

Please refer to separate import documentation for details.

When you click ‘Import’ the application server will start the import in the background. You can follow the progress by clicking the Jobs icon in the top right corner.

Import Log

After running an import, the Import Log will give you an overview of how the import went and tell you more about what went wrong, if needed.

If you need to see details about one of the import logs, click the “eye icon” in the Content column.

Execute Actions

Execute Actions lets you execute any action your administrator has exposed in the menu.

When you click the name of an action the application server will start the action in the background. You can follow the progress by clicking the Jobs icon in the top right corner.
