Introduction

Dashboards are used to provide overview of data in Perfion and to support work processes.

General use

The Dashboards option in the main menu automatically shows up for users who have access to at least one dashboard. When clicked, the first dashboard the user has access to (Quality) is loaded:

From here, the user can switch to another dashboard (via the drop down) or click any element of any widget to see relevant items. In this example, the user clicked Lifestyle in the widget Expired image rights:

If you need more space for the details on the right, you can hide the widget in the sidebar by clicking the hide/show toggle icon on top of it (shown in a red frame in the screenshot above). Clicking the toggle icon in the top bar (shown in a red frame in the screenshot below) will display the widget again.

In our example:

  • The widget loaded seven lifestyle images where the date in Asset Valid Until is exceeded

  • The widget applied the view Detail since this was selected in the widget setup

    • The default widget view is controlled by the administrator

    • User can change to any other view as normal

  • Data in the grid is editable as normal

Refreshing dashboard structure and widget data

Dashboard structure and widget data can be refreshed in three different ways.

Refreshing data in a single widget

To refresh data in a single widget, click the Refresh button inside the widget:

TECH NOTE: Widgets can be set up to refresh automatically on every load. In that case, widget data will be reloaded every time the dashboard is loaded. Widgets can also be set up to refresh on a schedule. Contact your administrator for details.

Refreshing data in all widgets on a dashboard

To refresh data in all widgets on a dashboard, select the Refresh option from the 3-dot menu. Be aware that this operation can take some time to complete depending on the size of the Perfion database and the complexity of widgets:

TECH NOTE: This operation will also load changes to dashboard structure (new dashboards, sections, line breaks and widgets)

Refreshing dashboard structure without reloading widget data

To load changes to dashboard structure (new dashboards, sections, line breaks and widgets) without reloading widget data (which can take some time), simply click Dashboards in the main menu. This will take you back to the last-visited dashboard and load updates to dashboard structure.

TECH NOTE: When a user refreshes data in one or more widgets, the refreshed data is saved in shared widget cache-tables. This means that all users will see refreshed data in the same widget(s) without running a refresh themselves.
