General structure

The main menu is the primary navigation tool in Perfion. Each option in the main menu is briefly described below with references to further reading.

You may not see all options in the main menu. Each option requires access in your user profile.

Items

Items is the principle area where you manage items and data. “Items” is a generic term used for all data carrying entities you manage in Perfion. This can be products, images and files (as in the example below), but it could also be spareparts, ingredients, training courses, locations, and many other things.

The first option in your Items menu is automatically loaded after login.

Feature Data

Feature Data is where you manage data for selectable features. Selectable features have their own lists of items, and these items become the values users choose from when they manage data on other entities.

Example:

  • Brand is a selectable feature with its own list of items

  • In Feature Data, you manage the list of brands and the data related to each brand

  • When users choose a Brand on a product, they choose from the list of brands you manage in Feature Data

Features

Features is where administrators manage features and data models. In this example, the data model for “Brand” includes the Brand value itself (also called the “base value”), a brand logo, a country and a description. This data model is what users see when they manage brand values in Feature Data (see above).
