ERP Factbox for IE - Installation
Internet Explorer is out of support by Microsoft and all new web frameworks, which means that the built-in Factbox in Perfion Web Client is no longer compatible with Dynamics 365 Business Central 13 & 14 (Windows client/RTC). Since Business Central 13 & 14 still uses Internet Explorer to show web content in their iFrames.
We have therefore developed a separate package for users who use Business Central Windows/RTC client and want to take advantage of Perfion Add-in module.
Prerequisites
Perfion Web Client must be installed, please refer to “Perfion Web Client – Installation Guide” for the installation.
After installing any version of Perfion Web Client, follow this document to configure the Factbox component
Configuration
Download installation zip file
Download the installation zip file from Perfion Knowledge Base.
MAKE SURE to right-click the downloaded zip file, choose Properties and Unblock it before extracting all files
Unpack installation zip file
Unpack the files from the installation .zip file. It contains the folder PerfionFactbox. Copy that folder and place it in the C:\inetpub directory.
Config.json configuration
In PerfionFactbox a file name config.json.example can be found, take a copy and rename it to config.json and paste in the folder.
Once config.json is pasted in folder, open it in notepad or any other editor software.
Now paste the base URL for your Perfion web client on all three lines like so:
In this example a Perfion web client is installed on port 9503, and by inserting the base URL for the web client we tell the factbox to redirect the web client’s content to this factbox application.
Installation
Create new IIS website
Open IIS Manager.
Right click on Sites in the Connections panel and select Add Website.
Use the following settings:
Set Site name to PerfionFactbox
Set Physical path to C:\inetpub\PerfionFactbox
Set IP address, Port and Host name to relevant local settings
Click OK to create website.
Add-in module configuration
Once Perfion Factbox has been setup as separate IIS website, proceed to Business Central and search for Add-in Mapping Card.
Open the mapping card and fill out the connection fields.
Insert the base URL for Perfion Factbox in this example IIS website for Perfion Factbox has been setup on port 9502.
Refer to “Perfion ERP Add-in for D365 BC” on our KnowledgeBase, for more detail about the Add-in configuration and setup.
Navigate to Items in Business Central and browse an Item that exists in Perfion. Factbox will now show a Perfion product in the Add-in window.
