Publish work mode
Â
Introduction
The Publish work mode is designed to make it easy to publish items into channels. The Publish work mode is activated from the Work mode-menu. It splits the screen into two main sections so you have items on the left and a channel on the right:
Channel categorizer
When Publish work mode is activated, the structure of the default channel (Catalog in this example) is loaded in the third panel on the screen.
Notice that this panel is a categorizer panel exactly like you know it from the main categorizer in the first panel. This means that you have all the same options:
Expand/collapse nodes (all or individually)
Switch to another channel (drop down)
Change layout (single column, table, grid, cards)
Refresh content via the 3-dot menu
Manage channel nodes using the right-click menu
Run reports and publish catalogs (via the right-click menu - see chapter Report and Publications)
When you click a node in the channel categorizer, the items currently published into the node are shown in the fourth panel on the screen.
Add items to channel
To add one or more items to a channel node, simply select the items in the second panel and drag-drop them into panel three or four:
If you drop items on a node in panel three, the items are added below existing items in the same node
If you drop items between two existing items in panel four, the new items are added in a specific order relative to existing items. Note that this is only possible when custom ordering is activated for the channel (typically the case for printed catalogs but not for website channels).
Remove items from channel
To remove one or more items from a channel node, simply select the items in panel four and click the X that appears when you hover one of the items.
Edit channel item
If you want to see or edit data for a channel item, right-click the item in panel four and choose Open Item. This opens the channel item in an item editor.
Reorder items
If custom ordering is activated for the channel (typically the case for printed catalogs but not for website channels), Items in panel four can be reordered by dragging them vertically into their new position.
